Sustainability

Sustainability is the second of four central ideas behind Equanomics. It is our goal to build businesses that create the quality of life each of us desires. It is also our goal for these businesses to function within the natural limits set by our environment, our bodies and other systems that support life.

Driving cars that run on gasoline isn't sustainable because we will eventually run out of oil. Selling a product that is known to cause cancer is not sustainable. Instead, we will promote products that make use of renewable resources. We will highlight those that have been designed for disassembly and recycling. We will educate our members about products that have health benefits and about those that don't. We do not believe in pulling items off the shelf where they represent personal choices. This is not about restricting choice. It is about empowering people to make educated decisions.

Whenever possible, we will follow sustainable practices and support companies that don't cause destruction in the name of building short-term profit. We have every intent of earning money but not at any price.
